How could ANYONE unsubscribe when something that tempting is wiggled under your nose?
So here's the shiny white box complete with Harrods logo and a beauty hall booklet instead of the usual product information card. The contents were wrapped in black tissue paper with green and gold Harrods ribbon.
The inside of this month's box is much more impressive than previous boxes (and so it should be!!)
I received:
-Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlilly Moisture Bath and Shower
-Clarins Extra-Firming Body Cream
-YvesSaintLaurent Forever Youth Liberator Serum
-Burberry Mini Lipstick in "Copper"
-Narciso Rodriguez Fragrance sample
The mini lipstick is SO DAMN CUTE and the colour is lovely and sheer. It does, however, feel a little drying so I've slicked on some Blistex MedPlus over the top.
The fragrance is very overpowering and a little too old for me (it'll be perfect as an evening fragrance for a more mature person). It has a topnote of throughhoney flower Musk is at the heart of 'For Her', expressing itself throughhoney flower, a Musk middle note and amber and with woody pulsations at the base.
The Clarins cream has a very subtle scent and a thick texture. It would be great for dryer skins as it feels rather oily. As for it "Lifting, toning and comforting" the skin I have no idea and I'm probably the wrong body type of see any firming results.
Another very cute product is the YSL serum. It's in a tiny purple bottle with a little pipette applicator. It doesn't really have a scent and it looks cloudy but it soaks into the skin very quickly. Now, this contains a new beauty ingredient that is slowly popping up everywhere but it's hard to know what the actual truth behind their effectiveness claims. They're called "Glycans" which are complicated sugar molecules that our skin cells naturally produce anyway as a means to attract water and keep the skin plump and soft. Whether that works topically is another thing, but I'm going to give it to my mum to try out and we shall see what happens.
I'm not 100% sure on the smell of the Molton Brown Gingerlilly. It's light and fresh yet spicy at the same time. Have always found Molton Brown to be a little hit and miss with their scents though anyway.
All in all, it has been a nice box this month.
I still think I'm going to stop my subscription though. It feels like it's time to try another beauty box.
